As it was such a fabulous September day, we took our donkeys out for a longer walk today.

We went a different route to normal, navigated past some new objects and scenarios and the donkeys didn’t bat an eyelid!

They were so chilled out, it was truly heart warming ! They never fail to surprise us !

Hahaha not since we got these groovy fly masks ….

3 years ago today we took charge of George and Little Lad, 2 beautiful, kind, forgiving, loving, cheeky and adorable donkeys. We have achieved and learnt so much, not just with/about them but with ourselves. Caring for animals, who in a previous existence had not been cherished is a privilege. Here’s to you boys and many more years to come !!

Today on the eve of our 3 year anniversary of being the guardians of our wonderful donkeys, we’ve had a visit from some Children from Chernobyl.

Thanks to our friends at #caryalpacas the children spent the afternoon with Kim and her cute Alpacas and then came to us for a spot of donkey grooming and interaction.

What amazing well mannered, calm, polite group of young people. The donkeys enjoyed the attention they received.

You’ve just got to love them 💕

As the temperature cooled this evening we took our boys out for a walk.

Just before returning home we beckoned some new neighbours to come and meet our boys. It is the first time they have encountered new people outside of their paddock. They were calm, inquisitive and extremely well mannered and Dowi and Harrison weren’t too bad either 😂!

Just goes to show how far they have come and how proud we are of their progress !

For now we may have stifled George’s electric post pulling shenanigans.

We have interspersed our regular fence with some metal pig tail posts and so far he hasn’t attempted to take them out.

We are still putting around 30 posts a day back at the moment…..

George and Little Lad have just been awarded a 1st class honours degree in electric fence management!

This has been awarded as they can now remove the post from the ground and all of the electric fence/ rope attached to said post !

However they are very obliging when you ask them to drop it ……. 😂
